3.4 Release Notes

Below is an exhaustive list of new features in version 3.4 of the Active Media Manager.
Asset Management
- New interface for managing assets including the ability to preview images, video and audio.
- Faster asset publishing.
- Assets automatically sorted alphabetically.
- "Where Used" feature now detects assets used in Rich Text components.
- Drag and drop:
- Assets into folders to arrange and organize them. Assets that are moved remain accessible on all webpages. (No broken links!)
- Folders into new folders.
- Asset search by name or tags.
- Renaming of assets changes asset names without breaking existing links to the asset.
- Assets have custom privacy settings:
- Public (Anyone can access the asset)
- Members Only (A logged in member of the website can see or download the asset)
- Member with List (Only logged in members belonging to a specific list can see or download the asset)
- Private (Asset remains hidden from everyone)
Page Links
- Rich text editor updated to include page link and asset link selection.
- Rich text editor updated to embed images via asset picker.
- Moving or renaming pages will update paths used in rich text components to the new page path. (No broken links!)
Mailings Updates
- Domain dropdown on newsletters allows you to choose which domain will be used for links when sending a mailing:
- Caching added to mailings improving rendering speed of e-mails; results in much faster mailing speed for large mailing lists.
Lightbox Gallery
- Create a gallery and using the gallery index component add a lightbox gallery of images to any site.
AMM Interface Updates
- General interface/screen cleanup:
- Copy and help text revised on a number of screens.
- Pagination added or updated.
- Consistent button and icon usage updated for interface pages.
- Browser support updated, the AMM now fully supports:
- Firefox 3.6
- Internet Explorer 7
- Internet Explorer 8
- Safari 4
- Full markup redesign on all templates used for forms, e-commerce, and blogs.
- Improved accessibility.
- Corrected markup errors in templates.
- Removed table based layouts which improves flexibility and reliability of rendered site pages.
ACE Updates
- Clients using database shipping (standard price based, weight based or quantity based shipping) with special shipping options can manage those on the edit product page for each product.
